A Telecom Distribution Box, or Distribution Point (DP) Box, is a secure and weatherproof enclosure used to terminate, connect, and distribute telephone or fiber optic cables from the main network to subscriber lines. It serves as a central hub for organizing, protecting, and managing cable pairs—often using Krone modules or fiber splitters—to ensure reliable, high-speed communication in residential and commercial buildings. It acts as a connection point between feeder cables and subscriber drop cables, essential in FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and telephone networks. It guards cable connections against environmental elements, moisture, and corrosion, ensuring long-term stability. It provides a structured, labeled environment for cable management, preventing network clutter and improving reliability. It enables technicians to easily install, maintain, or troubleshoot lines. They are available as Indoor (often with 10-pair Krone modules) or Outdoor (wall/pole-mounted, often with 1-pair or 10-pair modules). They are used for distributing voice circuits (e.g., 30, 50, or 100-pair capacity), splicing and splitting fiber cables, deployed in FTTx networks, data centers, and building telecommunication closets.
