A PoE (Power over Ethernet) Media Converter is a networking device that bridges fiber-optic and copper cabling while simultaneously delivering electricity to Powered Devices (PDs) like IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points. It acts as a fiber-to-copper converter and a PoE injector in one, extending network distance up to 100km over fiber while powering devices that are far from conventional power sources. It converts fiber signals to copper Ethernet (RJ45) and vice versa. It acts as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), delivering power over Ethernet cables. It extends data transmission far beyond the 100-meter limit of copper Ethernet cabling. It supports IEEE 802.3af (15.4W), 802.3at (PoE+, 30W), and 802.3bt (Hi-PoE/PoE++, up to 100W). It is often used in industrial applications, some models offer remote power management and diagnostics. It is commonly used in connecting remote IP cameras over long distances via fiber and powering them, providing power and connectivity to remote Wi-Fi hotspots in large facilities, connecting equipment in harsh, high-temperature, or remote environments. Standard converters only convert media (fiber/copper), while PoE converters also supply power. A PoE converter is often used to extend a single node connection, while a switch acts as a central hub for multiple devices. These devices are crucial for reducing installation costs by eliminating the need for AC power outlets near every network endpoint.

FTTx Solutions

Fiber to the "x" (FTTx) refers to various broadband network architectures that use optical fiber for part or all of their last mile connectivity. The "x" signifies the fiber termination point, covering deployments like FTTH (Fiber to the Home) / FTTP (Fiber to the Premises), FTTB (Fiber to the Building/Business), FTTC (Fiber to the Curb), FTTN (Fiber to the Node), FTTA (Fiber to the Antenna), FTTR (Fiber to the Room), etc
